You cannot run away from Failure

You cannot run away from failure

I am not a pessimist. However, I am not an unrealistic optimist.

I know you hear a lot about change of mindset, positive affirmations, the power of attraction and all of those beautiful stuff.

Are they valid? Yes, they are!

However, you must never think that they will save you from failure.

I’d give you some reasons

  1. Failure is not a bad thing
  2. Failure is on every journey
  3. Failure is usually not all because you.

Failure is not a bad thing

For one, the idea that failure is a bad thing is a very terrible one. It is most likely the reason success is far from you. Imagine if you are going to build an app that has never being built before, how do you escape from failure? Imagine you are going to write to people you have never written to before, how do you escape from failure?

We learnt this terrible idea in school. We saw a person who repeated his class as a failure. A person who got less than average as a failure. We saw report sheet filled with red inks as failure.

The problem with this is that we are only viewing it from an angle – shortsightedness. The person who comes out as the best in his class is also a failure somewhere. He could be a failure in sports. He could be a failure in gymnastics. He could be a failure in music or dancing.

The failure in class could be the best sportsman, musician, dancer or what have you. Failure is not a bad thing and you cannot run away from failure.

Failure is on every journey

In another sense, the road to be the best at something means that it has a beginning. A beginning comprising of errors and trials – failures. This means failure is a major component of learning. The poor student can learn to become the best student. The poor sportsman can learn to become the best sportsman.

However, the sad truth is that we cannot learn to be the best at everything. We have to be failures at most and that is totally fine. No positive affirmation, motivation speaking, power of attraction can change this.

You need to accept it and get on to work on things that you can change. On skills you can learn and be very comfortable at them.

Failure is usually not all because of you.

You can have the best business idea and it doesn’t scale.

You can make the best song and nobody buys.

You can write the best book and nobody reads

You can be the best dancer and nobody watches.

Sometimes, it is not about you or your work. It is about the people. They do not want it. Or maybe they want it but not just yet.

Your best bet is to find those that want it and want it now or better still do something better.

You cannot run away from failure
