On Roses, Death & Roses
Tomorrow is no guarantee. When one is no more, roses are useless no matter the numbers, fragrance, or beauty.
But you have today – to share as many roses as you can afford while we still can give and receive.
“I don’t want to tell him he looks nice, so it doesn’t get into his head”
“I don’t want to tell her how beautiful her gown is so she doesn’t feel herself”
Shut up! Stop being selfish. It is not about you. It is about them. Let her feel herself. Let it get to his head. This is the only opportunity it gets to happen. After death, there is nothing of such. Just silence.
And give people their roses while you still can and while they can receive them.
We tend to overthink everything. Giving a rose could be the confidence booster a person needs for that day. It could be the last hours of that person.
Let people know that they are seen. That they matter and are not alone. Let people know you see their effort and you appreciate it.
You are a selfish person if you refuse to give that compliment. Remember, it’s not about you. It is about them.
